Light Flight School offers advanced microlight training to better your safety, ability and confidence as a microlight pilot. The instructor will teach you to handle your microlight weight shift or fixed wing aircraft in unnatural attitudes, land in small spaces, and land a weight shift aircraft with it’s engine switched off.

Comefly Pilot Centre is based at the Virginia Airport, Durban, and offers microlight training packages that are tailor-made to suit the needs of each individual. The South African National Pilot Licence, Category Conventional Control Microlight, allows the pilot to fly conventional stick and rudder aircraft up to a maximum certified mass of 450kg.
The basic minimum training requirements depend on the student’s flying background, and the extra instuctor time, flying and ground school training that is needed.

Pyramid Flight School provides a comprehensive microlight tuition facility with modern training techniques and aids. The flying school is located about 15 km north of Barberton, on the R40 and offers trike and 3 three-axis plane flight training.
Candidates go for a demonstration flight with an experienced microlight pilot or instructor before signing up for lessons, to make sure about becoming a microlight pilot. Then an Air law exam must be written, and a student pilot license (SPL) applied for.

Skyriders Flight School is a new-age, adventure sport with mini-aircraft that are extremenly safe. Sky Riders operates the biggest microlighting airport in the country (called Microland) and provides flying instruction, as well as microlight and equipment sales.
Skyriders Flight School is based in Bapsfontein, Gauteng, and to obtain your microlight pilot’s licence, you require a minimum of 25 flying hours, including 10 hours dual (ie. with your instructor) and 15 hours solo.
Microlight Training Pilot’s Licence comprising of:

Leading Edge Flight School is based at the Hoedspruit Civil Airfield near Hoedspruit, Limpopo Province, and has been in operation since 1995. Hoedspruit is situated at the foot of the Drakensberg Mountains, not far from the Kruger National Park.
