Cape Town Flying Club offers formal training with highly qualified instructors at the Cape Town International Airport, where the Club is based. Formal training options include SPL, PPL, CPL Licences, Night Rating, Instrument Rating and Instructors Rating.
Pilot Training:
- SPL (Student Pilot’s License) – enables student to fly alone, with the approval of an instructor.
- PPL (Private Pilot’s License) – to obtain your PPL you must fly a minimum of 45 hours, and will be required to pass exams on 8 subjects during the course of his training.
- CPL (Commercial Pilot’s License) – the first step in turning a hobby into a potential career, the holder may fly for a reward.
- Night Rating – excellent first stepping stone for a PPL holder who wants to improve his qualifications.
- Instrument Rating – a pilot may fly in adverse weather conditions of certain types.
- Instructors Rating – for any pilot with a CPL who wishes to give flying instruction.

Cape Town Flying Club is a CAA Approved Examination Centre based at the Cape Town International Airport.
