FTS is located at the Grand Central Airport in Midrand, and specialises in a comprehensive training service that starts from the entry level Private Pilot Licence (PPL), through to the Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) licence. For practical training, the flying school provides Cessna 172′s, Piper P28A’s, Piper Twin Comanche and a Piper Arrow PA28-200R.
Training Services:
- Computer Based Training – comprehensive software training programs from the UK (Oxford).
- Student Pilot – first formal qualification required.

1st Airborne Training Centre is located near Waterkloof Airport in Pretoria, Gauteng, and specialises in practical and theoretical training for professional pilots, including Commercial Licence and Airline Transport Licence subjects.
Theoretical Training:

1st Airborne Training was founded in 2006, and is based near the Wonderboom Airport. The flying school specialises in theoretical and practical training for professional pilots. The training philosophy at the Centre enables students to reach high levels of competency, and help them to succeed in a competitive industry. Practical training is done with single engine piston aircraft, one multi-engine piston aircraft, and single engine turboprop aircraft.
