Base 4 Aerotech is the Aircraft Maintenance Organisation (AMO 1087) Division of Base 4 Aviation, and is responsible for the maintenance of all training and charter helicopters. They specialise in Robinson R22 and R44 helicopters; Bell 206; 407 and 412 helicopters; as well as the Eurocopter BO 105. The AMO has also obtained the Specialist Rating to carry out compass swings.

Base 4 Flight Acadamy is based at the Cape Town International Airport in the Western Cape, and is an Aviation Training School accredited by the CAA, that offers training courses in helicopter licences, as well as specialist training that include Game Capturing Courses and Sling Ratings.
Specialist Courses:
- Game Capture Rating – must hold a Helicopter Commercial Pilot Licence, and 100 hours of flight time as pilot-in-command; 5 hours flight time of game operations under the supervision of a Grade I or Grade II Flight Instructor.
- Sling Rating - rappelling, towing and the lifting and laying down of external cargo while being fixed to or disassembled from a surface during the helicopter operation; must hold at least a Helicopter Commercial Pilot Licence, 250 hours of flight time as pilot-in-command, 5 hours flight time of sling load operations undertaken with a Grade I or Grade II Flight Instructor.
- Night Rating – 10 hours instrument instruction and 5 hours actual night flying; allows you to fly in the dark but not under instrument conditions like bad weather or in clouds.
- Instrument Rating – 40 hours of Instrument Flight Training under instruction.
