Algoa Flight Centre is based at the Port Elizabeth Airport, and offers professional fixed wing flying training from private pilot to airline pilot licence. The flyng school is a CAA accredited PPL test centre, and is owned and operated by Algoa Flying Club.

Fixed Wing Training Fleet:

  • C152 – still one of the most popular training aircraft in the world.
  • C172 – four place high wing aircraft, general purpose aircraft, cross country flying.
  • C72R – Cutlass 172RG, retractable-gear version of the 172, instrument training for a Commercial Licence.
  • BE58 – twin engine 6 seater aircraft, fully equipped for commercial operations, for multi-engine conversion training as well as advanced instrument training.
  • Frasca 101G – ZS-AAD Frasca 101g Flight Simulator; providing a realistic instrument training environment; fully CAA approved.

PPL Training | Stellenbosch Flying Club | Stellenbosch

The Stellenbosch Flying Club is located in the Western Cape, and is a CAA accredited PPL training centre that offers a range of flight training courses. Contact the flying school and book an Introductory Flight with an instructor, and get the feeling of this exciting way of life.

PPL Training requirements:

  • Student must be at least 16 years of age to fly solo.
  • Be at least 17 years of age to obtain a PPL.
  • Restricted Radiotelephony Licence within 3 months of Student Licence.
  • 45 Hours total flying time.
  • Including 5 hours Instrument Flying.
  • Including – 15 hours solo flying.
  • 5 hours solo cross country flying.
  • Flight test with Grade I or Grade II instructor.
  • Mandatory lectures provided for all students (Ground School).
