HELI NO HOVER is based at the Cape Town International Airport, and offers the highest standard of fixed wing training available, with an experienced team of instructors and a fleet of aircraft for basic and advanced training, as well as a WX-400 Flight Simulator.
Fixed Wing Training:
- Student Pilot License (SPL) – first licence student pilots will receive, to authorise thwm to fly solo during their flight training.
- Private Pilot License (PPL) – may fly a Fixed Wing as Pilot in Command, allowed to hire and fly an aeroplane by yourself and take friends and family up, no work or reward.
- Commercial Pilot License (CPL) – work for money as a fixed wing pilot, and fly aeroplanes on which you are rated during the day or night (Night Rating) and in visual weather conditions (VMC).

Lanseria Flight School specialises in pilot training, which include a private pilot licence (PPL) and commercial pilot licence (CPL) for fixed wing single or double engine aircraft, and helicopters. The flying school is recognised internationally as a first class training organisation.
Private Pilot Licence requirements:
- Complete theoretical exams – Air Law; Meteorology; Navigation; Radio Telephony Procedures; Engines, Airframes and Instruments; Principles of Flight.
- Must be at least 17 years of age to fly solo.
- Complete 25 hours of dual flight training.
- Complete 15 hours of solo flight time, including 3 hours solo cross country flying.
- Pass a flight test for general handling, and a navigation test.
- Completed a restricted radio course (part of your PPL course).
