Base 4 Flight Acadamy offers helicopter flight training accredited by the CAA, which is undertaken from the General Aviation Area at Cape Town International Airport, with a diverse range of aircraft that include Robinson R22, Robinson R44 Raven II, Schweizer 300 cbi and a
Bell 206 Jet Ranger.

PPL(H) Training requirements:

  • Minimum age of 17 years
  • Class II medical from a CAA accredited aviation doctor
  • Minimum of 50 flying hours of which 15 hours must be solo
  • Restricted Radio Licence
  • Language Proficiency Rating
  • Ground School for 7 theoretical subjects.
  • Theoretical – Principles of Flight

Microlight Training | Comefly Pilot Centre | Durban

Comefly Pilot Centre is based at the Virginia Airport, Durban, and offers microlight training packages that are tailor-made to suit the needs of each individual. The South African National Pilot Licence, Category Conventional Control Microlight, allows the pilot to fly conventional stick and rudder aircraft up to a maximum certified mass of 450kg.

The basic minimum training requirements depend on the student’s flying background, and the extra instuctor time, flying and ground school training that is needed.
