Rainbow Airschool.com is based at the Circus Airfield near Johannesburg, the Ladysmith Airfield near the Drakensberg, and the Vereeniging Airfield in Midvaal. The flying school is CAA and RAASA Accredited, and specialises in Light Sports Fixed Wing and Microlight Training.
Training is done by experienced instructors, and they offer full time and part time licences in Light Sports Aircraft up to 600 kg; Weight Shift Microlight / Ultralight; Conventionally Controlled Microlight / Ultralight;
Microlight Licence Requirements:
- Older than 16 years (17 years to go Solo).
- Class 4 Medical.
- Good command of the English Language.
- Restricted Radio Licence.
- 25 Hours (minimum) Total Flying, of which 15 hours must be Solo.
- 6 Theory Exams (Principles of Flight / Air Law / Engines and Airframes / Human Performance Limitations / Navigation / Meteorology).
- Flight and Navigation Test.
